Here is another knife made from a sawblade steel..This particular saw blade was 52" and very old..good steel, we tested it several times..Good fine grain and according to what we saw we believe its is something like 1080 + 2% nickle which is common in these saw blades..The steel was just over 5/32" thick..We used a standard high carbon steel heat treat..5 minute soak at 1475*, quenched in Parks 50 and then tempered two hours two times..
It has a full flat grind with a distal taper to a thin edge..The knife is 10 3/8" long overall with a 5 1/4" long cutting edge..The handles are nice desert ironwood with four canvas micarta pins..The sheath is tooled, hand sewn 7oz leather..

Hard to believe that such a pretty knife and sheath, with all of that work put in, are being offered at such a low price.

That handle with that finish is really stunning.

Thanks, we try to offer more than you pay for..We do use good materials and a quaility heat treat..Just a well made knife at a respectable price you know what I mean..

edit- I try not to buy many knives now a days, but this combo with the looks + the price = must buy.
 
Very cool grind. Maybe I'll get lucky and snag your next offering. Be fun to have a saw blade. BHK started off doing that.
