Here is another hunter I made from a vintage 10" table saw blade, the good old kind without carbide cutting inserts and is 3/32 thick L6 tool steel (or equivalent). Its blade is 4 inches long and an overall length of 8.6 inches. The blade is differentially heat treat achieving an edge hardness of about Rc 60 while the spine is left at a lower hardness for maximum strength. The blade is semi flat ground with a convex edge and a mustard patina applied to give the appearance of age.
The wooden scales of this knife are Macadamia lace wood that are bolted with stainless steel screws and round brass nuts, Loveless style, and epoxied to the knives full tang and a brass lined lanyard hole. The bolts provide greater strength and durability than pins.
The tooled pouch sheath is made of heavy 8/9 ounce leather with a belt loop.
SOLD Price is $70 shipped in US
I prefer PayPal (my account is kelley_ward2@agilent.com) but take other forms of payment.
Thanks,
Kelley Ward
