saw blade steel heat treat

If I were to carefully ans slowly cut out a blank from a circular saw blade and grind an edge onto it slowly, would I need to heat treat it?

Most saw blades have a spring temper of around 45 Rc. Not really hard enough to hold a good edge.

I made many 100s of knives from saw blade steel years ago and I did heat treat them all. Some pretty good knives to.
