Does anyone know if this can only be used on glass? Can it be used as a wood saw as well? Thinking about getting one and would be curious to know the answer. Have searched but couldn't find anything.

I don't have a Rescue Tool. However, from reports that I've read here and/or on SOSAK over on KF, the glass saw does not work well on wood.

Hopefully Victorinox will eventually offer more types of tools that can be snapped into the Rescue Tool to make it even more versatile.

Hi, I have Rscue Tool. I tested the saw and is very good on wood. Very sharp and easily cuts wooden laths and branches:thumbup:

my experience is the opposite-the glass saw does work on wood but not nearly as well as a SAK wood saw design with double teeth-the glass saw will crudely rip through -with splinters from the tearing rather than cutting-if the wood is soft and green it may work ok-if the wood is hard-such as the oak i tried -the saw will tend to bounce rather than cut, the teeth just arent the same-still a cool SAK but as ive posted before, very task specific.
