Saw something at Walmart that was totally unexpected.

Never seen any but don't go in much anymore. I've seen posts on other forums of people finding legit Surefire G2Xs at Walmart for big discounts, however the hell that happens, but I'm not that lucky.

*Not for any moral reasons, I just don't like their stores.

No moral obligation either, just hate having to strap up like I'm about to head into Fallujah to go in one.

I wonder what Spydercos at Wal-Mart will do to knife shops currently enforcing MAP? I can't picture Wal-Mart charging MAP, so this could really affect knife retailers.

That's a good question. I personally respect Spyderco's MAP and understand the point of it. That being said, not all items are included in the MAP policy. That might answer instructed2's request for me to elaborate.

Hmmm, I thought all the knives were included. Does that mean you are only selling Spyderco sharpeners and accessories?

Walmarts in the South used to sell Spydercos, but they often cater to the lower income crowd or those simply wanting something cheaper. So, they no longer carry them in the stores. However, they do sell them online. It should be noted that a lot of Walmart stores are no longer carrying guns, bows, knives, or hatchets.

Now I'm excited to go check my closest Wally out. In the past, they have had more gun models available than knives.

All of our Walmarts here carry lots of guns. It seems like the ones that don't carry guns, eventually do. No Spyderco knives though...

From what I understand, the MAP policy only affects prices published online or in print. So, think sales ads, rather than actual prices on the shelves at the store.
