2 questions at once!
One - I've just been flying seat of pants with the saw steel so far, but the knives are acting well. What are the common saw blade (handsaw and corona pruning saw) steels and what's the quench/temper techniques for them?
Second question I should have asked BEFORE I started doing sanding on hardened and tempered steel!
How fine do you sand before heat/quench and heat treating? I admit that on 2 of the blades I had to hit the file a bit even after heat treating, i didn't prep quite enough- but should I be *done* with 150 grit sanding before I do the hardening and tempering?
