Sawcut Jigged Bone

Hey all. I'm working on a slip joint that is a re-creation of one of my Fathers old favorite Saber slipjoints. Its a decent sized barlow that had mahogany saw cut jigged bone.

I've searched Cullpepper, ebay and a few others, and didn't see any saw cut jigged anything. The jigging is rather large and deep compared to some of the other stuff I see which his fairly fine jigging

So, I'm wondering if anyone has any sources, or ideas in regards to doing the jigging themselves?

My only thought so far is maybe an off-center fly cutter in the milling machine, ground to emulate the pattern. Plunge down, the move over every .030-.040" or so.

Any other ideas?

Maybe a pic would help. The original with the rough makings of it's replacement.

I've used a really coarse disc on a disc sander-- like 24 grit. After getting the scales flat and
the right thickness one shot straight into the disc and then back out. I've had good results with this
method.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Will probably try some or all of the methods suggested. Will be getting a few discount or seconds bone slabs to test on.
