Saya Show Side?

If one were to do some embellishment to a single side of a Santoku saya, which side would one embellish?

Point to the left, or point to the right?

there are two sides to a blade or a saya. The "omote' and the "ura". The omote is the outer or face side. this is where any decoration or inlay would be.
the ura is the personal ( body) or hidden side. Only a signature or date would be there.
