I have been reading on the forum for many years and thought I would finally join and post a few pics of my latest knives. I have been making knives part time for many years, but since I recently semi retired, I now have the time to do blacksmithing and knife making full time.
Years back I read a few postings / tutorials from Ariel about making cable damascus his way and always wanted to give it a try. Here are a few of my latest cable knives.

The cable is Extra Improved Plowsteel cable, which should be around 1080 steel. The wood on the handle is Osage Orange and Pacific Yew.

Thanks on comments. I used Ferric chloride to etch the blades. On a curious note. I just started on 2 new blades this weekend and the solution seemed to work ok on the first one, but it did take longer. On the second blade it did almost nothing. While the etching solution was getting old, it turned a lot quicker than I expected.
