Scagel Fruitport Question?

I'll chime in with the rest and say these are some really nice knives. Scary sharp and very sleek. The spring on mine is perfect. I'm tempted to get another one with the clip point:)

My only complaint is the leather pouch is very stiff.

I have a ram's horn and the bone and wish I had an ivory.

That's the one I want right there, gorgeous!

You rich guys are killin' me...beauties!

BTW...Stag don;t pay any attention to making their horns the same on every side.

FWIW...the sheath is supposed to be stiff to secure and protect the knife. It works like a coin purse...yo squeeze the sides to open the mouth of it.

Maybe match is the wrong word but I at least expect the stag to look like it came from the same species of deer...:)

ain't THAT the truth :P

Add me too. I have wanted one of these since I first saw that smooth oiled bone wharncliffe. But I could never afford one. I had a Case barehead slimline trapper for a while, as sort of a poor man's version of the fruitport. But it was a tiny bit longer than the Scagel, and I never used it, so I sold it.

That's one reason I keep coming back here, to enjoy the pictures you all post!

Yeah... That one, Boggs (unobtainium) is the one that I admire the most. Has the slim Cali clip and no hole in the blade.  I've often wondered if GEC only made a few because they thought it might compete directly with the Fruitport for sales.

I bought two. One stag, one bone. The stag was cracked through a pin hole (butt end, all the way through) so it went back. Kept the bone wharnie. Very thick blade for a scalpel edge. I definitely would have preferred the clip blade. The leather case was crazy stiff. I used the Chamberlins leather milk that I bought with my saddleback wallet and if softened up enough to use, but I don't use it. Purses, even knife purses, are for girls! Just kidding for you knife valet guys. I would rather have Boggs version. Too much $$$ for what you actually get imo. Still, I haven't gotten rid of it so they definitely did something right.

I've carried the bone clip for about a year and it has been a great companion. Here is a fairly recent picture :)
