Scalawags & Scoundrels ie Fisk Micro Show

I have one headed to Buddy for photo. I will post up another tomorrow and the others are not finished. Dang pneumonia has worked my butt over this summer.

I am thinking this is going to be another rememberable weekend for the collectors and makers I am looking forward to seeing all the photos Logan takes

I will be going to Jerry and J.R.Cook's this weekend to do some shots of what they are still working on and will be bringing.

Walrus handled Sendero. Bridge pattern Damascus and deep relief engraving with copper inlay.
This is a field knife that will hold up and look good both.

This is a riflemans knife as would have been carried in the late 1700's by a few guys/longhunters.
The Horse Chestnut wood handle was planted by George Washington. The steel in the blade is a from a Revolutionary war gun lock plate, the Statue of Liberty and from the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
The blade is about 11 inches long and I am still working on it. More engraving, brads for the guard, etc etc etc. Dang this takes a while.

The $8.00 Micro Show knife. Each year of the Micro show I offer one of my field knives for $8.00. I do this because my first knives sold for $8.00 apiece. I sold a matched pair for $15.00 so as to give a better deal at the time. This year is the first year it has not been a Sendero. This Gamemaster model I thought would work. Bridge pattern Damascus with a stabilized fiddle back maple handle. The face of the guard has a bit of engraving on it.

I am also working on a bowie and Buddy has a nice little Sendero he is shooting. It is only the second NLT marked field knife that I have ever made.

Just that he is working on some cool stuff.
It wont be long now.

It's been a busy month! I am still working on the maker's intro videos, but I do have some stuff to show. It was a little more difficult to gather everyone's work in progress and finished knives up this year, since they are all spread across the world. Currently, I have nothing from Sfreddo, but we know he is working hard on what he is bringing.

I'll start off by showing you the hand out that I made for this year. I tried to put the highlights from last year, as well as put one knife from each maker on it from the 2015 show.

I want to make something similar every year for the show. That way the makers from the year before are still seen, even a year later after they have attended the show.

Chuck posted some of Mike Quesenberry's work. He sent me the same pictures, so if you didn't click on Chuck's links, here they are. :)

Here are few things Jerry Fisk, M.S. was working on when I was over there last.

He wasn't sure which handle to go with, so he narrowed it down to these three.

He had this one narrowed down a lot more.

He said it was a historical piece of wood. One of the former president's hard wood, but I didn't ask which one. I'm sure it wasn't Clintons.

What, what! :D I had a fossil joke too, but since Jerry will probably read this, I shouldn't tell it. :P

Moving on to one that Jerry did finish:

Annnnd to J.R. Cook, M.S.

That one is Cookie's person carry knife. He was still hard at work when I stopped by. Pictures of which I am currently working on. So! I will have more soon.

I will have this Sendero at the Micro show as well. The Damascus includes steel from the Statue of Liberty [near the torch] and from the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
It is full engraved with the guard and back bolster being deep relieved and inlaid with 24kt gold. it is only the second Sendero that I have marked with the NLT markings.
Many, many thanks goes to Buddy for the photo. He was pressed for time but took the time to make the photo look like the knife as it is quite colorful. That scandalous rascal can shoot a photo.

what a wonderful looking work of art JF. Everything just fits perfectly. Someone will be thrilled going home with this NLT Sendero.
