Scalawags & Scoundrels ie Fisk Micro Show

I hear ya, Don. I don't know how good of a cutter Bill is, but I know for a fact how perfect and sharp the CPK Light Chopper is, not to take anything away from Bill, of course.

As it happens, the grip and aspects of the cutting geometry, as I understand it, were designed in collaboration with Dan Keffeler, and in collaboration with Lorien Arnold. Dan Keffeler, for those who may be new to knives, has as I recall won quite a few world championship cutting contests.

Don't get me wrong, there is a vast difference between the collector quality knives at the Jerry Fisk show (there can only be ONE JERRY FISK!) and the CPK Light Chopper, but just trying to give credit where credit is due. Now I'll shut up.
Bob, no need to shut up now. Your input is very much appreciated.
I would buy one of Nathan's knives in a heart beat, they are very good knives!

RE: I don't know how good of a cutter Bill is

Nathan makes good cutters and CPM 3V is a super steel. I have one of his Lorien Design Field knives and it holds a great edge.

Bill won the contest by cutting 10 water bottles. No matter what knife is used to do the cutting, 10 water bottles takes a good amount of skill, ability and a steady hand to get through all of them.

After he won the contest, Bill cut through 12 bottles. Doing that shows great skill. Bill deserves the credit, he did what he needed to do to win.

I couldn't agree more and anything that may have seemed contrary to that view in my posts was either misunderstood or poorly stated. When I think of his swinging that chopper, I can't get out of my mind how it would have looked if he'd been swinging one of the Ron Best swords I've got. I would hate to be on the receiving end!

Congrats Bill

Sounds like a great time for all with some incredible knives

Bill post up a pic of the cutter

Thx

Hands down the best knife show I've ever attended. The never ending food was amazing! The relaxed atmosphere was a pleasant change from the typical show. The best part was standing behind a table for maybe 10-15 minutes, giving a little talk about each knife, and selling out. I wish all shows could be like this one.
Thank you Jerry and Bob for your generous hospitality. It was a real pleasure getting to know everyone a little better.

well then! That's very cool, congrats Bill!
and congratulations for what sounds like an epic show, Jerry :)
