Can you tell us the materials that were actually used on the new 532 2000's, please? I have heard three different explanations... can we get it straight from the manufacturer, please?
Thanks!

Dave,

The "red" one is cherrywood just like the early '90s pieces
Blue is indigo royalwood
The last is nice walnut.

That's it.

OK, sorry, but I have to ask this question, being a little more specific. What is "Royalwood?" Is it a specific type/species of wood? Or is it some special laminate? Or a "stabilized" wood? How tough is it? I am seriously considering getting one of these (if I can find one), and I think I'd prefer the Indigo Royalwood. But, if it isn't exactly a tough wood, then I could easily go for the Walnut (which I know, or am pretty sure, is tough).
Thanks.

I couldn't help going and ordering the dang thing (the Indigo Royalwood). It's on back-order at the Knifecenter, but should be here in about 2 weeks (hopefully).
Actually, I guess I would still like to hear what the Royalwood actually is.

Yes, it's a colour variant of Dymondwood.

Thanks Griffon, that's exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like it will be pretty tough, not as much as G-10 or micarta, but tough enough.
