Last week, I did a 3 days camp and hike which covered 18miles (30km) of secondary forest and boulders to reach the top of Mt Apo, the highest peak in the The Philippines.
This trip truly put myself and my gears to the test. It was raining daily and we had to hike through slippery mud and boulders daily for 8-10hr. I am fortunate to complete it safely to tell the tale.
Hiking through muddy secondary rainforest in the rain with DEK.
DEK on the peak of Mt Apo. D3V rust resistance is truly impressive. It rained everyday and the sheath was totally wet on my hip during my hikes. Not a single rust at all.
View of the sunrise on the boulders
Last 5m to the summit from the boulders
Enjoying a nice cup of warm coffee in the chilly morning. This is Lake Venado where I camped on the 2nd day.
My trusty Leki that saved me from many falls and didn’t failed on me. Many poles bent during this adventure.
