Thanks Krav, glad to hear you're happy with it! The high polish makes it tricky to photograph. Here's a shot I snapped before the final buffing:

Outstanding! The only thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger on the pricey Spydie Southard is the ugly ace brown G-10 scale.

Very sweet! So, please forgive my ignorance, but what IS this Juma material? It almost looks like some type of celluloid or something?

Whatever it is, it sure is beee-yooo-ti-ful!

The only information I could find says it is a thermoset plastic but I'd like to know how its made. I can tell you it smells exactly like latex paint when working it.

Wow, fantastic shot!!! Spketch is clearly an artist in his prime!! VERY well done!

^^^ very nice! One hell of a photo!

I am convinced that I could be trained by Ansel Adams and still take pictures like a blind man.

What will irritate you even further is when Erik reveals that he shot those pics with a friggin' smart phone*. HAAAAATE that guy. LOL

*Yeah, all his awesome shots in the EDC thread? Most of those were shot with his phone, I believe. Skills always trump equipment!

Don't forget his notorious Picassa app lol!

And back on topic, those scales are beautiful. I've never been a huge fan of the Southard, but I'll definitely try it out one day to see if the hype is real

Ahhhhh, you guys make me blush. :tickled_pink: iPhone 4s and Picasa, it's all you need man! Oh, and a high midi-chlorian count. :D

I'm quite partial to Steve's work myself (just a few examples from the bunch):

I will go on the record right as being someone who just doesn't like the Southard. I can't clearly articulate WHY I don't, it just doesn't grab me. It's odd, because I really love Wharncliff style/type blades, which the Southard has. I don't know. All I DO know however, is that this one right here is flat out fantastic, and it would be the only Southard I'd own.
