I used the search function, and while I saw plenty of posts with excellent information, I didn't see any threads to answer these two specific questions. Here goes-

1.Of those of you who have ordered the Ka-Bar micarta handles, how many of you like them enough that you would order them again?
2.Same question as above, but is there anyone who didn't really feel that they were a big enough difference in feeling to matter?
3.Last question-Who all offers micarta or G10 handles for Beckers? I'll offer the first three places I know of: 710(I think), Ka-Bar(factory option), and G10 T-K-C Custom handles from www.the-knife-connection.com.
Thanks.

I love the micarta scales ive purchased. To me, the added grip makes a huge difference. I have always ordered my micarta from Tomars (along with most of my knives). The 710 and T-k-c are the only other ones I can think of for quality g10 or micarta. Im sure someone else can elaborate on this.

I love the feel of the micarta. I have it on most of my Beckers. Not that the grivory is bad I just like the micarta better.

Absolutely love the factory micarta. I have micarta and yellow .060 G10 liners (from tjswarbrick) on my 9 and 15. The 9 feels like a new knife... like it has been tamed a bit for lack of a better description. Adding the factory micarta and a set of liners balanced the knife for me, it took all the emphasis off the point end of the knife and balanced it back towards the handle. They have better grip even though they are still smooth and as an added bonus they seem to get "grippier" as my hand sweats on them. They feel like glue with a leather glove on.

Try a pair and if for some reason you don't like them, someone will definately buy them off you. :)

710's scales are looking really nice, every time he post a new pic I want to order some... I am saving up for him to make me a couple sheaths first though.

I have 3 sets of the Ka bar micarta grips and LOVE them! My biggest reason for liking them is the performance when they are wet. Micarta stays "grippy" when wet and I didn't have faith in the factory grips wet performance. I also dyed the grips using RIT liquid dye and really like the results. Yes they are pricey, but worth the cost to me. I have two Becker blades (16 and 9) that are in process of being customized and will add the micarta to both as part of my plan. The only knives that I don't plan to add micarta to are my pair of bk-11's because they are kind of unique in their handle characteristics.

It seems that I'm the only person in the world who don't like micarta scales :)

For me,grivory ones, when applied micro stippling, can't imagine better feel or grip.

I too prefer the grivory, but if you can get them sandblasted, it makes a tremendous amount of difference.

I'm looking at the 11 and the 17. I was thinking it'd make the biggest difference on the 11.

I'm wondering when someone who has micarta (I don't have any) is gonna throw up some Becker content? I get chewed on every-time I don't have some in my posts....at least "in on 1"

;)

The micarta makes a huge difference to me at least, with the liners the grip is perfect. Thanks again to tjswarbrick! :)
