Scalloping micarta handles question.

I normally do not use miicarta. With that said, I used it. Now how do I put scallops in the stuff? Does anyone have any pointers they will share? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thanks.
 
By scallops do you mean something like an Anso patten, if so the small wheel of your belt sander (which I don't have) works best but I would use a drill press with a sanding drum attachment.
 
Have the small wheel attachment. Just wanted to know if there is a rhyme or reason for how it goes. I looked for a tutorial but couldnt find one. Thanks for the idea.
