Watch out on Ioffer.com because they have a person selling Microtech otf that are made in china. With there box and it is stamped on the blade too just like the factory ones are. What alerted me is the prices. A Microtech Troodon Drop Point OTF Automatic Knife M7 going for $71.00 shipped?? I don’t think that is even in the ball park for the right price. The sellers name is lookbook. What a scammer.
I ask him is it real and he said china but you look at the picture and it says made in the USA. and he has a bunch of them with different styles.

he just email me and told me they are the real deal and are being made in china now. I asked him about one of the otf for $109.00 shipped.

Counterfeit MT OTFs have been out for over 3 years now. Complete with boxes/sheaths/papers.

And most other popular American knives including CRK Sebenzas, BM Infidels, etc.

Pics of just a few from 2010. All Counterfeits and all <$50...:

As always, Buyer Beware. Cheap isn't really a bargain with these things. POS is more like it...

do they have a site on the net that you can email them to ask questions??

They do have several sites out of Asia these are being openly hawked on.

However, I prefer not to share the addresses. Have absolutely no desire to aid them (or others) in helping spread this disease...

noooo I want the usa Microtech address so I can email them. not the people who are making the fakes. when I get proof then I am going to raise hell with Ioffer and they will kill all of his auctions. now I sell the clones one but they do not have any bodys name on them and they dont come in there boxes. just plain black boxes.

MT is (and has been) aware of this since 2009.

Just too many international legal hoops to navigate to even try to begin to get a judicial solution.

Same with the other companies.

It's a mess...

Attempting to try and stop the counterfeit shipments at our borders is minimally effective at best.
Lots get through.

And as long as there's folks willing to try and make a quick buck selling them,
the supply will continually be replenished to meet demand....

ok I just found there web site and I asked them about the china ones with there name on it. I am just waiting for there reply.

Have at it Don Quixote. And may good luck be on your side.

You'll find there's literally 1000's of Windmills out there...

yea but right now I have nothing to do so I want to get him shut down on ioffer auction site. I know he will just move to another site but got to do something about it.

These knives are NOT the real deal. Our knives are 100% American made. Companies in China are attempting to replicate the product and sell knock-offs. The biggest indicator is the unrealistic pricing. Could you please forward me any contact information you have for the seller?

here is there respose. now I give them the sellers name and get him off the auction site. yes

Wait. You sell clones of trademarked products?

mine do not come in there boxes. mine do not have there name on them. mine have a small difference between the real ones. I dont say in my ad that they are the real ones like him. selling the clones is one thing selling the fakes and passing them off as the real ones is another.

This is indeed sad. Worse, in China I believe this is actually perfectly legal (could be wrong). And no, $71 isn't even close to ball park for these. I've seen Microtech Troodons go for between $350 and $2300 depending on the exact model.

So its ok for you to sell "Clones", but you shun "Knock-Offs"?

Essentially you are saying it's acceptable to copy someone's design as long as they dont stamp that person's brand/name on the item.

You should mention it in your emails to Microtech that you sell "Clones" and see how happy they are about that.

Richard enough mentioning that you sell knives even if it is not on here. If you want to continue mentioning that you need a Dealer membership.

I am not trying to sell knives here. I refuse to sell any thing to anyone here because I am a use to be dealer. I no longer have a dealer license or tax number. I am selling off my inventory and then I am done. I was looking at these to buy for my self. I found out that they where fakes or counterfeit and was trying to warn every one about them just like they do when this happens on eBay. you go to my history and you will see I have never listed something to sell on this site or told anybody my screen name that I go by.

I don't have a problem with the thread here but I've seen you mention many times in the past that you sell knives. That's all.
