I DM'd a long-time Seller early this morning, telling him I was "in" on a knife he had posted. 15 minutes later, I get an email (headed by his BF User ID) telling me the "The knife is yours !", and soliciting PPFF funds to immediately be sent to an "Emily Malone". Oddly enough, a quick check on the sales post showed he hadn't yet read my comment, or even been active in the Forum since about 2am today. 🤔

The actual email associated with that scam message is "Pan.flip70@gmail.com".

A little digging online shows that same person / entity associated with "Emily Malone / Pan.flip70@gmail.com" has victimized sellers on gun sales forums as recently as January of this year. Fuck these weasels.

I found spindrift416 spindrift416 's email address in less than 30 seconds searching the Forums.

It's still listed. I didn't search all their posts.

You should search and remove all entries But there's a good chance they've already saved any posted email addresses.

I thought it was recommended to use PP G&S to minimize fraud exposure?
It is, but many sellers will specify F&F to avoid the tax implications. Up to the buyer to either take the risk and accept, or say hell no and move on.

No to mention that any payment information should be sent by DM.

The staff recommends that all transactions be conducted via PM. (For two paying members to be doing a deal via email boggles my mind.)

If you insist on using email, then verify that the person who emailed you is actually the seller. Ask for additional pictures of the knife to be emailed to you. Ask for something particular to be added to be in the picture.
