More reasons to by a BF membership and communicate via PM's. It's not foolproof but it certainly helps to verify.
 
To offer insight on how this bastard duped me, he stated he is a retired firefighter, a man of god, married, has eight kids. I was asking him why Venmo recipients kept changing and he stated they were his sons. The one real person, Theresa Knoke, tried to refund me but he must have access to this person.

The internet makes it easier than ever for someone to become whoever they want to be, or whoever they want you to perceive them as. Words mean nothing from behind a screen and keyboard.

People say respect is earned, not given, and they should follow the same guidelines with trust. Good people become fewer and further between by the day and bad ones are bolder than ever.

Hardy har har and no. I haven’t fallen for a Nigerian scam. I was desperate to replace a knife I cherished and wanted SOMETHING, ANYTHING good to happen or have. I would list the shit that has happened to me and my family in the last month but it’s not worth it for a barb like that. It’s a hard lessoned learned. Here’s to hoping you don’t experience something like this.

Just tried to get me today. Been hunting what he had for awhile now. Claimed to be a 70 year old fireman that doesn’t know how to make videos or take pictures. Finally got a pic with timestamp and name written down on a note from him and it’s 100% photoshopped. Then searched his email and boom, found this post. What a let down but glad to have found this thread.

I’m mostly on FB and Reddit. I just looked through my old post but didn’t see my email being used. Where did you see it?
