I will not ever email you unless we communicate over DM first! Even so, I generally only communicate on DM for transactions. And I will never ask you to pay PPFF.

Some poor guy just recently got scammed by someone over email pretending to be me.

Please be advised!
Get a paid membership and communicate on DM if you plan to do business here.

People keep letting themselves get hit by a textbook man-in-the-middle scam if they dropped their contact info into a public sales thread on a site that is publicly visible to everyone and searchable using google.

Never post your contact info on this site publicly and make sure you delete older comments that have your contact info exposed. Timestamps help confirm emails if you sue that but DMs are the only way I'll buy, trade or sell here now after so many people pretending to be someone else by stepping in and taking an email or phone number and pretending to be the buyer or seller.

This is the best advice. Yet there are still many people yapping on PPFF and such.

The forum has been blamed for these events but here you have rightly described it.
