Scandi Bushcraft, Kephart or something else ?

I agree with MTF3.
Each knife depending on the use you intend for a knife will change the decision.
I don't think there is a perfect solution or a perfect knife so I'm going to follow the advice of "udtjim" and buy them all.:)
Great thread and thanks for posting the pictures

I have been looking into getting a nice traditional scandi from ragweed forge to match my gransfors, lots of great selection. The Helles particularly stick out for me.
What I don't like about scandis is how hard they are to sharpen, at least compared to a convex edge.

I have always thought that a Roselli Carpenter would be a great companion for a gransfors axe. They are also hand forged.

Pitdog, I currently have nine of Mr. May's knives and his trace and Handy Scandi have been EDC for me since the purchase. Mr May has been unfailingly kind to me on the phone whenever we speak. He also talked at length with my wife about knives she was buying as a surprise for me. This definitely speaks highly of the man as my wife is the opposite of a knife knut. The big hand Scandi, mentioned previously, has a gracious plenty of room for my size nine and a half hands. I have no plans to chop granite nor to attempt to whittle rebar but I feel confident the knives will perform to my satisfaction. I think you will find several on his site that would serve you as well.

Hey Pit,

I have been very happy all the way around with my Koster's Bushcraft. I don't think you need one in his super hard steel - and he sells kits.

Check out his newer model of Bushmasters and slightly larger handled Bushcrafts (coming soon).

I think for 150 or so - you could tame a serous knife with sheath and be very happy.
