Scandi - First Peek!

Speaking of HT what was the target hardness? Would you consider a diff. HT running the edge into the low 60's?
 
58, I would think you would get some chipping if it was in the 60`s.


From what I've read its max hardness is about 63 and with a RC of 61-62 it supposedly also has a greater toughness along with more edge retention. 1095 might be a good choice for this knife too, my laminated mora that is in the low 60's showed better edge retention and zero chipping of its 1095 core than I've ever seen with 1095 before, it was the only scandi blade I never had bad edge deformation on. 1095 IIRC can go as high as RC 65 but I think 63 peaks its toughness.
