I was going to say that I think scandi grinds work well on thinner stock, and ease of sharpening is the the benefit. I really don't think you want a traditional scandi grind on a thick knife.
I agree. I think even on the 4mm blades unless the bevel is long you get too much of the wedge effect when slicing. However on around a 3mm/1/8 blade it cuts and slices well:thumbup:
I don't really think it IS that easier to sharpen. I mean I like scandi grinds and have a lot of them but for me convex is way easier to sharpen.
I find the main benefit of the Scandi grind to be woodworking performance. And by woodworking I'm not referring to chopping and batoning. I would like to see a scandi ground Busse, but not any scandi ground knife, but a puukko type design, for once, without the choils and the guards getting in the way of precision. Busse makes fantastic large knives like the FBMs, but they've yet to make a really top class small knife.
