All these new Nessmuk threads got me fired up to post a picture of my recently completed trio.

Wetterlings large hunter axe. I had to do a bit of work on the edge but it is $36.00 well spent.

The classic SAK alox farmer, all for the bargain price of $15.00. Thanks Amazon.

My most recent purchase of a Dan Koster bushcraft. Scandi grind of course.:D
$142.10 delivered to my door razor sharp.

So for $192.00 I feel I have put together a very solid trio. Just wanted to share with everyone here.

Comments are welcome. What would you add or change in this trio?

Paul.

Absolutely! I'll be needing some more pics of all of those as you use them. :D I think you'd be hard pressed to find a situation that those blades wouldn't take care of (in that area).

I really like that selection. I've got a Koster on order too, and a blue alox farmer that I normally carry. I expect that I'll take the Fiskars hatchet along to complete a similar trio.

Magnum22, your trio is just fine! It was well thought out and is very useful...don't put it down!

valcas1: nicely done! A good using combination!

Ron

good stuff. everyone's trio seems to knock mine down another notch.

Why would you say that? I find if you keep it simple it will always work for you better. I have the same combo as you and it does everything I ask of it. It was cheap and it works for everything I need it for.

valcas1: Nice combo. Thanks for sharing.

not saying mine lacks anything in utility, otherwise i'd have changed it. just that a handmade swedish axe and koster are far nicer than a mass produced etwing and mora. as for the farmer, i like my yellow huntsman but if it was the standard red, i might use my farmer instead. my farmer's blue.

i use my swistool spirit s anyway. did i mention my favorite knife's the pioneer?

If I had to sort through that collection everyday, I'd never be able to leave the house (it'd take me hours to figure out which one or two or three to tote!!) Nice collection!

thanks guys. for the past year i've been searching for a copper cadet. copper anything would do. if anyone can help me out, i'd appreciate it.

Love the trio. I got one of those Koster's and agree. Damn fine knife all around.

hmm, natural micarta & sheath #2, red alox farmer from amazon...

if I get a Wetterlings, we'd be twins :)

Here is mine now:

but I will soon be among the "Koster Bushcraft" ranks as well. I believe I'm in this next batch.

Nice photos.

Funny thing Tarmix. I am working getting a Reeves double bit now. Are you happy with the axe?

Extremely.

Takes and holds a great edge. Very light weight, and versatile. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for skinning/field dressing.

Paul nice looking set. Like tarmix said those Lee reeves are solid performers I just used the one of the ones I have for building a shelter it worked great. That other one I have is yours if you want it.
