Does the Bushcrafter or Bushfinger ever come in a Scandi grind?

Received my first FF. A production Bushfinger. Feels great in he hand though the grip is a bit thin to me. What models are similar with a thicker or wider left to right grip?

Also, while this is crazy sharp I prefer a Scandi grind. Just curious if only certain models come with one?

Thanks

We've seen one scandi BC Jr. recently, but prior to that it has been years since a scandi BC. The Bushfinger is more frequent model of the two, with several recent examples.

Handle thickness is not constant among the same model of knife, so you could find a bushfinger with a thicker handle. It is difficult at best to guess handle thickness from pictures, so the best bet is to contact the seller and ask them to measure. Blade HQ is the only dealer that provides handle thickness in their specifications. In my own searching and experience, handles over 0.8 inches thick are on the thicker side.

Handle height and contouring also contribute to how thick the handle feels. If you are interested in learning about knife specs more, search for the Models and Tang Types thread on this subforum.

One more example for ya. Bushfinger. 5/32" O1 steel with combination hammered/spalted flats, black canvas micarta over lime green liners.

Here's a 1/8" scandi BC jr. So far its been my most used blade, besides my hiking buddy for food prep.

We do those models in Scandi. The 4" blades and under are the ones we do. The handle thickness is variable due to the fact that we carve these by hand. So, you really have to ask. Call the shop and have Phillip go over it with you before purchasing. And remember the satisfaction guarantee. If a handle is too thin, send it back and try again till you get one that fits.

So are you saying a custom order can be placed? I didn't think you do that.

Not at all. What I was saying is that you might need Phillips help to get you the correct handle thickness. Otherwise with our hand carved handles it could take a few to get one the right thickness for you. If you call the shop and work with Phillip from the knives in stock you have a better chance for success.
