Ok sooo, if a scandi grind is at let's say 20degrees. No matter how thick the blade is, it's still gonna perform at wood carving just the same as another scandi grind that's a different thickness? I'm pretty sure a condor wood law has the same edge angle as a mora, and it's a mm thicker. I thought this would inhibit the Woodlaw carving ability but I think it's actually better. It splits the fibers of the wood allowing the knife to continue into the wood farther. So if I had a 4mm thick scandi at a 20 degree angle, it wood, no pun intended, perform just as well as a scandi that was 1mm thick and 20degrees. If anything the 4mm would perform better because it wood initially bite into the wood, then pop the fibers, then continue digging in.
If any one has 2 scandi grind knives with the same angle but different thickness, please correct me if I'm wrong. I don't know if there is a certain extent to where the thickness wood just get the knife bound in the wood, or just pop the fibers so much that there would be no problem.
Thanks!
