Scandinavians, first annual becker meet and greet weekend!!!!!!!!!! October 17-19

After a lot of talking and no action, me and two other forumites from Norway will now host the first annual scandinavian gathering.
Because we are so few from scandinavia on this forum, it will be a bladeforum gathering (no brand spesific).

I hope the mods will not be upset with me to post here even though it's not Becker spesific.

Gathering will be held Oktober 17-19
Location: A farm about one hour drive North of Oslo at a Place called "Skreia"
For you guys comming by plane we will arrange car-pool With the guys driving cars.
We have both inside and outside locations, you sleep where you feel like, bring own choise of sleeping gir.
There is a store nearby, for supplies, Food and drink.

Contests will be held outside and there will be fire, and a barbeque.

Just got an email from Ethan Becker telling me that he and KaBar are packing up a Box of goodies to be shipped for prizes.
Lennox is also getting some snacks from a couple of others, but wont reveal to me what it is yet....:mad:



Our goal is to fix a good weekend like the ones the Beckerheads have at Ethan Beckers place.
Contests, some show and tell, tradeblanckets, good food and drink. Generally just gather as many guys from Bladeforums
as possible, to have a good weekend of fun and friendship-building...

Hope to hear from as many of you as possible...

I'm envious. My ancestors come from Norway, and I've always wanted to see the place. I wish I could make this!
 
Sounds like you guys will have a good time.:thumbup: Should set up some targets for knife throwing competion or axe maybe. Pretty descent at axe throwing myself i found out at a festival. Also want to go to Norway someday. At the moment i'm a completely broke SOB. Don't even got a vehcile to get to other US states let alone afford a trip to another country. Anyways hope you get a good sized gathering together. Take pics.:)
 
Wow, that is awesome Mr Becker, we will try our hand at getting some contests and lectures together, choppingcomp, firemaking maybe knifethrowing and a couple of other things....
Still struggwling to get a place, one is allready ok, but a little far from the airport, the other, a dragstrip in the forrest, is pending,,,,,,,,
 
Holy cow. Gatherings are going global.
 
Think I`ll post this up in general or community forums so that more people will see it.
We want as many people as possible to attend, we want to give away prices and have as many fellow knifeenthusiasts as possible

I started a new thread in general forums, as I think that will give more respons.
If it is ok by the mods in Becker forum, please let this thread stay too, as we want as much people as possible to see this..

If you want to remove it I fully understand...

And to Mr Ethan Becker, it is your great gatherings that spurred us in to starting this project, would be so cool if we got a weekend in your
Spirit up here in Norway...

Shipping to Norway is usually 2-3 weeks if by boat, about 1 week to 10 days by plane.
Depends on customs....
 
Cool, I'm in!
I'll bring some custom razors, custom kitchen knives in addition to some folders and fixed blades.
And since I'm just a short drive away, I can haul with me some JNats and other hones as well:)
 
That is way cool Birnando, looking forward to seeing you there.

My partner in crime is actually going to Bladeshow tomorrow (Grrrr Lennox you lucky S.O.B)
Hopefully he has some luck scoring some souvenirs to have for prices in the contests too.....
