SCANDINAVIANS!!! First annual bladeforums-gathering weekend!!!!

Just wanted to give you a heads up, me Lennox from the Busseforum and Hoe.Dusty would like to invite all of you scandinavians in here....

Gathering will be Oktober 17-19

The Place will be a farm outside Oslo, about an hour drive North at a Place called "Skreia".
Accomodations are sleeping inside (bring Your sleeping gir of choise).
We have locations inside, and outside, contests will happen outside, and there WILL be fire, LOL...

For the attendees coming by plane, we will arrange car-pool With the ones driving cars.
And there is a store nearby, so Food will be available (and drink)...

We will try to do this in spirit of the Becker-gatherings (see Beckerforum for threads on that)
There will be contests, show and tell, tradeblankets, good food, good drink (bring your own, there will also be some food served from the grill)
We are working on gathering some prices for the contests (just got email from Ethan Becker and they are packing up a Box of goodies now for shipping).

We are looking forward to gathering as many fellow knife/wildlife enthusiasts for a weekend of good times, friendly competitions, good laughs and frienship-building...

If this interest you, please chime in, and tell all your friends too.....
I hope to hear from as many of you as possible.
Norway, Denmark, Sweden, heck even Germany, Iceland and Finland too if you want to come you are more than welcome....

Sounds pretty darn good! I would love to come, if people get excited about this..
But the question is, why Norway? :D

It's pretty far away. Would it be fair to hold it in Sweden, so that everyone would have more equal distance to travel? That way car trip would be better possibility than coming with plane (expensive). Thoughts?
 
A.L thing is that we live nearby Gardermoen airport, and thought that would be a good place.
Second is, lets start in Norway and see, maybe someone else will want to put together the gathering next year.:/

I can have work off that time of year, but all the expenses might make it crazy expensive at short notice.
Good idea though. Would be really nice.

I think Gardermoen is a good idea. I live 2500 kilometers north of Gardermoen, but it's still just a flight away. It's allready june, so if you want a good attendance I think that setting a date is paramount, especially if you want it as early as September. If you give a date, I can see if I have the possibility to commit. My guess is that goes for quite a few others as well.

And btw, A.L. plane Helsingfors - Oslo was under 100 euros both ways.

Saint Loke, we are working on the date, waiting response from the different places now.
My partner in crime, Lennox is going to bladeshow tomorrow, so I'm on my own for a week.
Calling the different places tonight to get a better idea.
Hope to see you in person, I've enjoyed your threads on the forum many times...
Please give a heads up to all your friends on the forums too....

Oslo is pretty central to all of Scandinavia, so thumbs up on location from me.
I actually spend last weekend in Oslo. Came in on boat from Copenhagen...

As mentioned in your thread on the Becker Forum, I hope it will be early September.
 
Yeah, I got to agree that the earlier the date is set, the easier it is for everyone.

True, I checked also. Then get robbed by train company that costs more than 100eur.. pretty steep pretty fast..
 
Just checking in to say I've seen the thread. I don't think I'll be able to make it though.
