Scared of my new flashlight batteries! Help please.

Still a good idea to check the voltage of the batteries right off the charger to make sure they were not over charged by the ultrafire charger. I recommend the protected cells with regulated LED lights but love to use AW's IRM cells for Incan flame throwers.

I got my Ultrafire wf-139 Li-Ion 18650 charger for $16.95 in Jan 2010 along with 2 Ultrafire 3000mAh 18650 Button Top Protected Rechargeable Li-Ion batteries at $10.95 each.
Last August I bought 4 more of the Ultrafire 18650s for $20. I haven't used them heavily but have one 18650 in each of my 18650 lights - a SolarForce Skyline, a Lumapower D-Mini VX and my most recent light, a PD31. Basically I keep one battery in each light along with a spare.

I've never had a problem with these batteries so for you guys more in the know, can you maybe list your pointers on safe usage and maintenance of these batteries, as well as things to avoid, for those of us less knowledgeable?

That'd be much appreciated, and could also save one or more of us from any nasty accidents.

Thanks!
