Hey Hogs, Dogs, and Rats,

I just can't get enough of Busse & Bussekin blades . . . They're simply exceptional! I was fortunate enough to jump on and snag a Chophouse Thick Cut Blade while it was still offered . . . I'm so glad I did, because at 9+ inches and slightly over 17 oz --- this compact hatchet replacement is a beast. Now it's optimized and ready. Cheers friends and here are some pics after I reprofiled it to 19 degrees each side (38 degrees inclusive). It's scary!!

Nice! I love my Chop House (lean cut), I kind of wish I jumped on the Bunker Buster since its kind of a fixed blade version.

Sick! I bet that chops like no other

Thanks guys!! Yea this thing is beastly --- I want to pair it up against the B11 to see how it holds up. Heck I'll compare it to the Cold Steel Trail Master and BK9 to see how it does

As always one amazing job. I finished my first re-profile on my ZT it looks good but nothing compared to that.

Rob_Mob - i think i bought a scrapyard 511 off of you a few years ago that has a mirror edge like that... i still have the knife, it's in my bug-out-bag. It's muddy/tan and i bought it off ebay and a green scrapavore from the same ebay seller... the guy had rob in his ebay name so i think maybe you sold it to me?

I'd like for you to stop doing this to me..... I hate being jealous.

Lime Green Jelly?! Thanks my friend --- :)

Rob, quit showing off-SWEET!!!

Great job!

Thanks guys!! It takes so long and so many strokes [insert juvenile joke], that when I finally finish --- I just have to share. It a mixture of joy, exhaustion, disgust with sharpening, and admiration of what an incredible knife could be like with an incredible edge. Lol sorry to all those that are tired of the posts . . . Actually I'm not that sorry haha ;)

I've never had the pleasure of owning a Scrap Yard SYKCO 511 --- I hear it's great though. So no, I'm afraid you bought it from someone else . . . Cheers on a great score!! I don't use eBay to sell anything -- just to buy ;)

im kicking myself for not getting one... :( cool looking blade...

I bot 2 thick cut chop houses off of ebay for less than it would have cost from busse. they are beasts!! i have an edgepro sharpening system but i don't have the patience to go past 200 grit lol

I have an edge pro as well. Bigger blades take some time, especially with a reprofile, but it's worth it. Do it in chunks over a few days if you don't want to sit for a few hours all at once. The EP original stones are 120, 220, 400, 600, and 1000. You got to 220 already so I assume you set the bevel and developed the burr--the rest should go a lot quicker because you probably are done shaping. Now it is all about building on the foundation you already have. Do a couple stones per day if you want and you will be golden in 3 days.

That is good advice, if i ever buy the 400, 600 and 1000 grit edgepro stones i will do that hehe :) i bot the $30 edgepro clone and the 120 and 220 grit stones(real EP stones), i can get a great working edge, but it's just not as pretty as the mirror finish

Beautiful edge Rob. I snagged one of these of the Exchange the other day. It was one of the few that I really regretted passing on.

If only I had a film crew to follow me around while testing . . . Go figure I have the patience to hone/sharpen everything myself, but not to figure out how to video anywhere other than a backyard -- lol ~_~
