I'm flat stuck on those Schatt & Morgans and the GEC's. My next slippie is going to be either one of these sowbelly stockmen or the 4 blade railsplitter.

Very cool. Nice edge too..

The last picture is very interesting. I have nothing against CR knives, but looking at the two of them together, its sure easy to see the personality difference between the slip joint and a modern folder

So-Lo's tutorial on knife sharpening featuring the sowbelly above has been made into its own thread to encourage further discussion and commentary:

I use the same hones regularly and can attest to the excellent quality of the finished edge they are capable of providing.

Congradulations on one of the nicest patterns and knives to come from Queen here of late! Great pictures too! Top one in the last batch shows the excellant f&f of the back springs.

I crack myself up Blues. I know my knives are sharper than I am. I kept scrolling up and down trying to find my post (i.e. question for So Lo) and then I finally get the clue to click on your link. Derr CJ :o Thanks for the Blues Clue. I probably need to hit the sack for the night. I think I may be asking for some stones for Christmas. I think So Lo has inspired me to get a sowbelly from Schatt. I have no green bone.....yet.

I know how it is, CJ. :p

I thought So-Lo's info would be useful to those who want to learn how to sharpen as well as those who know how and want to enhance their skills...so I made it a thread of its own where it can be expanded upon as necessary.

Hopefully folks will get some benefit from it.

Here it is again for those who may have missed it:

Just looking her over and seen this crack in the scale :grumpy:

See the main spring pin to the back pin near the rear bolster?

Im sure Mike will take care of me

Wow,
That is too bad. I am sure if it is the Mike I am thinking of, all is well.

Ouch, sorry to see the crack. However, that is a beautiful knife. One of these days, I'd like to own one. Looks very usable.
