Speaking of cigars, in general I prefer Dominicanos or Hondureños over Cubanos myself, though of course I can find good Mexicanos at much better price, some Dominicanos use Mexican tobacco.
As far as I know there are four varieties of tobacco commonly grown in Mexico including Cuban seed "Piloto" along with local "Negro" and also some from Sumatra and Connecticut seed for wrappers.
