Hello,
This is a very nice damascus letter opener. I don't do these very often. Some say its a dagger but for numerous reasons it's being sold as a letter opener as that is what it was originally intended to do.
The blade has been etched heavily, then polished to reveal a stunning damascus pattern which is tactile and gives off great shimmer in the light.
The blade is chisel ground, meaning only on one side.
The handle is countoured and very comfortable. It is gorgeous gold dyed stabilized buckeye burl. It has been polished finely to an almost glassy finish. Exposed tang steel is also mirrored.
The knife is held together with two 1/8" mosaic ss/copper pins and a single 1/4" mosiac ss/copper pin.
The blade itself is 15N20/5160/52100 "alabama damascus" which has been heat treated.
The overall length of this piece is 11.25"
The piece comes with a handmade leather sheath which has been dyed and stamped.

The colors in this first ourdoor pic are most indicative of the handle color. The other pics flawed by my indoor shooting skills will be replaced by outdoor pics at a later date, if necessary.
