can anyone help? I recently purchased a used, in good condition, resonably priced 16OT.
Can anyone shed any light on this model. I cannot seem to find much written about this model, and do not seem to see many around on the web etc. Please included if possible dates of manufacture, rarity level.

Thanks

Would the knife be a 160 OT Mountain lion? Or an 18 OT Mighty Mite? Check the numbers. Or post a picture. We'd be glad to give you information once we clear up what you are asking about!

Rusty,
You will have to post a picture of this one.
As far as I know there is no 16OT.
15,18 yes.. the 15 is the big fixed blad that Codger tallks about so often. the 18 is a small single bladed knife with a liner lock. see the picture attached

Send me an email with a picture and I'll gladly post it for you.

Well, I started off on the wrong foot, the knife I posted a thread about was a 160 OT, not a 16OT as mentioned earlier, Give me time I'll get the hang of it! anyway I said I will post some pic's of the 160 OT. Please take a look.

I copied this from another topic:

160OT

The 160OT Mountain Lion was likewise made for a short time ('90-'95). I have a knife of another pattern that was given to a customer in settlement of his complaint about a 160OT breaking, and the replacement also. It has a thin blade with a flat grind. Other than the grind, and the full tang, it is the same pattern as the longlasting favorite, the 153UH Golden Spike ('74-'04). I have several of them and like the serpentine handle configuration handed down from the 15OT ('64) and the 165OT ('67).

Here is the full topic that includes similar information about other Old Timer fixed blade knives:

You can probably learn even more by using searching the forum for 160ot.

Best Wishes,

I received the Mountain Lion blanks the other day. You can see why the above knives broke at the tang. Adding the scales and pinned guard just did not do much to reinforce the obvious weak point. I've not broken one of mine, but then they have not been subjected to heavy field use like the hunter I spoke to about his 165UH. I believe he broke two of the 160OT's before going to the thicker spined 165UH.

Thanks Guy's for your wealth of knowlege, It is most appreciated, As I have only just joined the forum a short while ago, I am sure there will be more questions in the future. Especially as there seems to be so much to learn about the Schrade history/family of knives.

Thanks again........Rusty 1

Hello all, I have what I believe is 160 OT and also 156 OT. Both knives are tang stamped Schrade +U.S.A. LTD. but neither knife have the number on them or the Old Timer emblem on the handle. Can anyone tell me if they have seen any knives like these and where?

It'd be much easier to answer if you could post a picture of your knives. There were so many variations and limited editions over the years, it's impossible to guess without actually seeing the knives.
