Is it my amagination,or did they change their blade material in the last
few years. Seems like the Schrade Walden knives were made of a better
material than the Schrade usa knives. ??
There are other more knowledgeable folks here who will check in.....but I'll give you my take, as I know it:
Schrade carbon steel blades were 1095 until such time as they stopped using them in many patterns...
Schrade+ was 440A, until sometime in the 1990s, when they switched to 420HC (like most American production knives) because of ease/cost of blanking the blades.
