Not yet. The reason I've asked the question is that I've been keeping my eye on one that has been for sale for quite a while. The seller is asking premium price for it though, hence my question here. I don't recall seeing any of them, and was wondering why? Are they rare, or are they someone's put together (Taylor?) knives.photos anyone?
Hey guys, I'm quite certain there was a damascus bladed knife in the LB family as well. If I recall correctly it came decked out like the SCM7 and SCM5's did in the "Custom" box with scrolled sheath. Possibly from the very late eighties to the early nineties. I name those dates only because I believe Jim Parker or someone in the business had gotten a decent size shipment of damascus at the time, I believe Case also had a few damascus knives out as well in that period. The dating is all guesswork on my part though, I don't have any hard facts, but I do know the knife itself exists.

Is this steel as good as Schrades 1095? Anybody got one, and if so, how would you rate it?

It's a Barlow Knife that appears to be new, and I can't tell any more than that about it. If the new Schrade USA are made by Bear & Sons, this one probably is too.Was there a specific Schrade you saw with damascus blade/blades? The ones I've seen recently were shown in a SMKW catalog. USA made Schrade branded knives with damascus. These are the ones I was referring to when I said they were made by Bear & Son.

Like I said, it's on one of those famous auction sites, and I'm sure the seller is not telling the whole story.
Thanks for your input.

Thanks, That's what I wanted to know. Those are the ones I saw. Those are new...last year I think. They are USA made and the damascus is "Alabama Damascus" the same used by Bear & Son for their knives. It's decent steel.
