I haven't tried any of the Viper's, but do have a Schrade OTF SCHOTF6. It's only a couple bucks more than the Vipers, but is a little bulky. However, I would say that it is quality enough "for the price". Not sure it's something I would carry for speed, but it sure is fun for the novelty. It's been fired many hundreds of times and still solid with a crazy rocket like ejection.
But being "assisted" I'm not sure I'd want it in my pocket without the lock engaged, which takes a bit of fingertip work. This makes it a little slower overall than my favorite flipper or flickers. And it's not something that I would suggest for any type of heavy work or bushcraft by any means.
That said, if you've never had an OTF, it's a cost effective way to try one out. Worst case scenario, it simply becomes a toy that is fun to show off when someone want's to check out your knives.
