I've used various hunting knives over the years but always seem to end up with a Schrade of one type or another.
I've got a old "sharpfinger" as well as a skinning and field dressing knife of theirs.
I see some people speak highly of their lower prices fixed knives as well.
Just wondering if there are any more " schradeaholics " out there like me?

Love my sharpfinger.. but the folders are what I was consumed with for a while... Somethin about that fat old timer trapper just makes it perfect for me.

I usually like high end knives. I recently got a 7 inch 1095 steel fixed blade from schrade. Oh man, that thing is amazing!! I bought a 2nd one a few weeks after. The blade is a little thick, but the grind makes it work great, the HT, blade geometry, ergo, etc. Everything great. Plus it was under $30, best bang for your buck if you need a great hard use fixed blade! The 5 inch model would be great for a hunting knife, 7 inch is a little big for that, but would work fine.

The new schrades are not great. If you can find the ones made in Ellenville N.Y. then you have a great knife.

Also many of the antique shops in that area have good collections.
