I saw that this is a limited edtion knife limited to 1000 pieces and that it has BG42 blade steel. Could this be the same knife that I just saw in Wal-Mart or did they start making a cheaper edition with the Schrade+ steel?

I saw it in wal-mart also for 39.95. I think thats just a regular production version. I asked the guy behind the counter about it, so I got to play with it for a few minutes while he was digging out an SAK classic I was there to buy.

The Lake and Walker was supposed to be limited to 500 knives with the BG42 steel. The folder is nowhere near worth the retail price.I think they had plans to make a more affordable version with their regular steel and probably without the titanium clip and liner.

I asked the same question a while ago on the schrade forum, and ahthough it had a few responces, nobody from the schrade forum (moderators) said anything. I'm just curious on what type of steel it is.
