Schrade-Loveless Collaboration & its iterations

Please allow me to add to the confusion. :)
-Bruce

Hi Bruce, your knife looks like this one, without the blade etching.

It sure does. ;) I had originally bought it to be a user. I may still, but with reservation.

It could also be an unfinished one of these,From A.A.P.N. :

"In 1992 Schrade issued a "500 year quincentennial special issue Columbus collectors set of knives". There were either 500 or a 1000 made. These sets sold for 2000 or 2500 dollars. In the centre of the display was a medallion made especially for this set. It has a Columbus scene on one side and a beautiful scene with presentation plaque on the obverse."

An extremely interesting thread to me. Ballenxj thank you for the link - that was a good read. Man, getting to learn from a master like that.

Ken, thanks for the heads up. I don't think mine was destined for one of those sets, but you never know.
Bapabear, you are welcome. The amazing part to me is that I knew Brent was a custom knife maker, but it didn't really sink in whom he learned from until the second time I got to hang out with him for a short while.

I really think this thread could use a revival.

Met up with Brent again today. We talked about knives some, then the conversation turned to classic cars. It seems we have more in common than I thought. He likes 1969 Plymouth Road Runners too.

Back in 1970, I had a 1965 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback - I played with the 273ci engine, until I had it putting out 255HP.
That little Barracuda was some car back then, I was in my early twenty's.

I had one too Ken. I drove a 1967 Barracuda fastback from 1973 through 1977. Had a killer 8 track tape stereo. College years.

Back in 1980 I had a 1972 Plymouth Cuda equipped with a 340. I had just had a custom silver metallic Blue (not the cheap looking metal flake) shot by my brother who owned a custom body and paint shop back then. That was a fun car. Memories. :)

I was always too poor to have more than a subsistence vehicle, back in the day. But later, my son and I built a Schrade Loveless truck. I have a 1979 Ford 3/4 ton with blown out 460, ported polished shaved heads, D2 Lincoln rods, higher compression pistons, MILD cam, headers (duh), 3 inch dual exhaust, big radiator, aftermarket electronic high voltage ignition, bullet-proofed C-6 tranny and transfer case with many Cobra parts, drop-down skid sheet, underdrive/overdrive, hand-lapped one ton rear differential, new lugnut-to-lugnut, with lockers, hand-built dash with all after-market gauges, etc., etc., steering wheel, seats, etc., etc. AND.... rusty fenders and junkyard steel wheels with narrow aggressive tires. All I need now is a sign "Will work for gasoline." If necessary, I could lay a Schrade knife on the seat next to me. Am I wrong or has this thread wandered off?

Indeed it has. As if that ship has not set sail in this forum. :D

LOVE IT! Very fitting on this thread as MR Harp is a car guy too. In fact, he told me he just picked up a 1978 Chevy Pickup.
He also told me he doesn't do computers too well, but I see and call him on occasion. I would like to get him join us on this thread someday. ;)
