Schrade SC513 & SC515 lockbacks ?

I have a 502SC with a standing grizzly signed by M.Barbour.The other 25 of my scrims are all signed or initialed by F.Giorgianni .Toby

Welcome guys.

He he, I keep a drooling glass nearby, handy when LT posts pictures. LT, you are doing a great thing saving the dies as well as other tooling and the knives.

I am until I sell them lack of interest is getting me down so is the beauracracy. I am getting tired of shoveling against the tide. like I said I do not know what I will do. Probably whatever makes me look the most obstinate. It is frustrating. LT

If they were printer's dies, you could cast them in moulds and send them downrange. Have you heard any updates on the proposed legislation?

Codger

No and I doubt I will as I mentioned. I believe it is just to placate me. I raise a lot of hell with people ( when I feel I am right ) just look around here at how many people I have pissed off. Well I figure it is like an old con told me once you come into this world alone this is pretty how you go out so you might as well do your time here the same way. Actually these bring quite a premium and are quite sought after they are one of a kind I mean there might be ten or 20 thousand of a particular issue of a scrim knife and these are there one and only parent. They make a dandy display for a collector. Especially in the middle of a scrim display. A friend of mine had a wax cast done of a fish one then had it made into a silver fishing spoon type thing and had them attached as ornaments on some knives I sold him to give to the men in his wedding party. As far as printers dies I am familiar with them since I also have an old printing press down in one of the buildings. LT PS how about a couple thousand brass engraving templates or several thousand tang stamps. I am glad I don't live on an island , it would have sunk by now.

Lt,
Favor please. What is the tang stamp on the knife with the sissors? That blue box is from the same style/year that Schrade decided to make the 512OT and 19OT. Stainless versions for the OT's.
Interesting ornament on the bail. You always have such neat stuff to show us.
Thanks,
Larry

Box is incorrect it is what I had so that is what I used for these for the guy getting married.Box is a 707UHE. Knife is a Schrade+ 707 UH???? I don't know maybe it is correct if so it was purely an accident. LT

Codger, those five knives are the Schrade Cutlery Classics. Yes, they were done by my father. I scanned the pages, killed the quality so the images would download quicker. Here they are;

Those were a great help, Tom. Also your confirmation of the artist (also seen in the text of the fliers). I know Frank avoids publicity prefering his privacy, and his wish is respected. But he is an important part of Schrade history. His talent exhibited in the art on Schrade knives for so many years makes this inescapable. It is natural for interested collectors to be curious about the creator of the etches and scrim art. I do appreciate your taking the time here to identify his work and explain some of the odd questions we have.
