A few years ago I received an email from another collector making an inquiry regarding the possibility of obtaining a Lovestrand Subhilt Fighter I had in my collection to match with a Lovestrand fighter he owned. Since then Paul Kessler and I have become close friends and as many have seen he has been collecting some fabulous folders with engraving.

We talk many times a week and he suggested I might like to have his Lovestrand to add to my collection. When visiting with Paul a couple years ago I was able to view the knife and knew it would make part of a great pair.

In today's mail came the knife with sheath. Mine never had a sheath. Here are a couple photos of the two knives. One is a composite of the two knives with my subhilt in a highlighted oval and the second is just the two knives.

The two knives are within 1/8" OAL and blade length -- ATS34 and 416 SS.

I think I even have a spot to display them and will work on that in the daytime.

AWESOME pair of knives. Great how they came together in your collection.

Pleasure seeing them.

Wow, Murray. Nice. The added complexity of the raised clip and the two blade-stopping ears on the guard drew me right in. Really fine.

He also really defines the side flats to the curves on the handle. I love that aspect which is there, but hard to capture.

Schuyler's work isn't just clean, it's uber clean. Always fantastic proportions and curves, too.

No wonder he is sought-after.

Nice clear photos, too. Thanks.

Wow, what a great pair - I'm glad that they have been brought together. I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favourite as between the two, and fortunately for you, you don't have to. :) Congrats on the new piece and thanks for the viewing here. I look forward to getting my paws on it on my next visit.

Those are superb! Schuylers knives are nice as you can get.

I've had many phone conversations with him over the years and he's one of the nicest people you could ever discuss knives with.

Those are beautiful and so timeless. I loved Schuyler's work at first sight decades ago, and he's always managed to maintain an instantly recognizable, yet understated style.

Glad you guys are enjoying these fighters. Found a place to display them last night but waited till I could see the spot better and now have both on display as I did not want to just put them into a case in a drawer. Wish I could display openly all the knives but just not enough room.

Great knives. I've had a stag hunter of Schuyler's for a dozen years or so and I still marvel at the workmanship.
