I saw a great show tonight Called Science of Survival with Host Myke Hawke. I never heard of him but he sure knew his stuff. He was in the jungle. It was a great show. He sounded like the guy who talks for the Man VS. Wild commercials. Anyone know who he is? It was one of the greatest shows Ive seen in a while. He favored a Bolo Machetee and he used a Hammock with insect net.
 
He's a bit of a celebrity in his own right now. I first saw him as a guest commentator on the uselessness of contestants on the TV series Castaway. He seemed a likeable enough cut-the-crap kind of guy I'd happily share a conversation with, but that's TV so no real clues there. I did take his humour as a positive indicator though. I gather he's also showed up on other celebrity stuff, like that Simple 'Tards series with Paris Hilton.

He has 'tinternet presence
 
I've seen him on TV a couple of times but I can't really recall where. I'm pretty sure he wrote a book about learing languages too.
 
He has all kinds of badassness in his resume. I remeber seeing some of his videos on youtube, some jungle survival stuff I think.
 
any idea if it will air again?
I did a search on my satalite but did not find it.

Yeah, thats his name Myke Hawke. I dont know when or if the show will come on again but it was one of the best survival shows i have seen. It was aligned with the show ( I shouldnt be Alive), Its about 4 guys who went into the Amazon Jungle and everything they did wrong. He showed what to do that was the right things. Like, He got water from the ground, made a jungle bed, how to use a hammock and lots of info on a Bolo Machette. Alot of other stuff too about eating and medicines. It was good to say the least. I cant belive I havent seen him before. It was on Discovery and was dated in 2006 if that helps. Maybe it will come on again. Hope that helps TedPalmer.
 
that guy has the coolest voice ever.
I've watched some of his vids on discovery channelse website.

Ok Ted your welcome. I think I got the Idea of the joke Myke Hawke, It sounded like what the girl said on the Movie Porkys when she said Mike Hunt, am i right? Its cool. Anyway He is the voice for the Man Vs Wild commercials. He does know his stuff that is for sure....Special Forces for 20 yrs. I wish he would come out with a survival show. We need a survival show for every day of the week. Mon. night, Les Stroud. Tue. night, Myke hunt. Wed. night, Bear Gryills. Thurs night, Ron Hood, and Fri. Night, Karen Hood, hmm shes pretty cute......what u guys think?

I would never leave the house, I wish there was a channel like that.
 
He is the real deal thats for sure. This guys one of the best Ive seen. Oh and Yeah his voice is pretty cool to listen to. When ever you hear the commercials for ManVsWild, that is Myke Hawke talking.
 
Only problem I saw when I watched him....he taught the Universal Edibility Test.

Bad move, Myke...bad move.

He's still a bad motherf_ _ker though...I wouldn't mind taking a course or two of his. But at 500 bucks per person per day...it's a little steep. I'll stick with books, Ron Hood and what pappy taught me.
