Hello all , This short sword or big knife , was ground from oversized 3/16" A-2 Tool Steel . I 1st flat ground it , heat treated it to an Rc 61 then finished with a convex grind and a fine scotch bright finish .
Folks the lines that show on the blade in the pics is just reflection from where they were taken , they do not exist .
The balance point is right at the guard , I left some extra meat at the front for strength when cleaving things .
O.A.L is 15-1/2"
Blade is 9-3/4" with the sharpened edge at 9" , which is sharp and thirsty as it has bit me and been blooded . It is 1-3/4" wide at its widest point .
Fittings are also A-2 tool steel with red liner spacer , cap nut is stainless steel
Handle is polished buffalo horn , white spacer between handle and fittings .
Sheath is right hand carry .
