The local high school was having a WW2 style scrap metal drive today, wasn't WW2 themed but it reminded me of that time (as read in books). Hung around with my old boss who was runnin' the backhoe a bit to pack stuff into the rolloff, checking for tools thrown into the roll off, anvils, blocks of steel, tubing generally useful stuff like that. No luck on the anvils, but did manage to score a nice length of crane chain, a smaller length of HEAVY duty chain, this old rack/frame thing, made from square tubing about 4' by 8', but the king of the haul today was a 3 foot wide by 6 foot long peice of 1/4 thick diamond plate, SCORE. I got some solid fuel forges planned for this beast, and probably a nice table after I add some legs to the big square tube frame. I traded off about 200 pounds of this round bar 1215 I had scrounged awhile back, and have had it for a long time and not used it, so time to rotate
. Good scrappin' day
