ok so I have been wanting a Nalgene wide mouth bottle for some time...but could not get past the 15+ dollars price tag.

well i just got 6 1000ml bottles for 19.78 after tax....

gottla love closeouts...

they say Langston University on them but for 2.99 who gives a poop right?

Great deal I have a couple Nalgenes and they are great. Gotta love stuff that doesn't break.

What is deal spotting?

It's something that BladeForums doesn't allow, where you find a good 'deal' on the net somewhere and point it out in the forum. I believe the goal is to keep control of folks with less than altruistic intentions.

So, for example, you could post that you got lucky and got a cheap Vic Farmer and it's neat, but you couldn't post that they have super deals on Vic Farmers at websitex.com.

Just a heads up!

Great deal but where have you been looking? I have never seen a nalgene for more then $8-9.

Interesting. I think I understand the rational behind such a rule.

I guess it would be too much work to weed out and ban offenders of the rule that were using it as spam.

It's too bad, though, because I like hearing about deals. Just last month I cleaned up on a Glock mag clearence thanks to a fellow poster on a different forum.

I'm not complaining mind you. This forum works very well, and is run very well. Different strokes.

Deal Spotting rules are partially targeted at spam, but more to protect dealer members and 1SKS. Both provide support to keep the forums running. If a dealer could just post "I've got Vic Farmers for $20" without a membership, then there's no incentive to get a membership. Also, posting deals from non-member companies could take business away from BF members. Similar to the rule that only paying members can sell in the Exchange - it provides an incentive to pay for membership.

From what I've observed, deal-spotting specifics vary somewhat depending on the particular sub-forum and the moderators involved. (Take the above with a grain of salt - I'm not a mod and haven't read the rules in a few months)

We could order W&S nalgenes. Wholesale is $5-6, though prices may have gone up with the new non-polycarbonate material. And shipping is a pain in the neck.

Nice deal, man! I scored a Swiss Gear equivalent (32oz) at Goodwill Monday for $0.50 myself. Used, but in good shape. You won't find me complaining. :D

i am down to three....i am giving them to my fellow officers here....they sure need to drink more water....
