I've had a BM 940 for EDC for quite a few years. My first and one I still carry is in 154CM. When I saw the
Benchmade Gold Class Osborne 3.4" Damasteel Blade, Titanium Handles, Carbon Fiber Bolsters. . .

I was torn between the $$ and the knife. I figured that in a month or two the $$ would be forgotten, but
years from now I'd still have the knife. Besides, I felt it my duty to provide some stimulus to the knife industry.

Wow! What a cool knife. are you actually going to carry it or just store it in your collection?

It's a great knife... a true classic, IMHO. I've got one in 154CM, and it's a great knife. I wonder how the damasteel does with pocket moisture and corrosion? Also, I too am REALLY curious if you're planning on carrying it or just keeping it safe and stashed?

Pretty but def pricey. I would imagine the OP is safe queenin that one. I would hate to ding that up. Does BM have a no questions asked warranty on their Gold class? At that price ya think they would be like a Strider or CRK and really look after the buyer.

No, I've got an older 940Ti w/ S30V blade and a Sebenza if I need to upgrade my EDC. I don't see this one being carried other than to show-off; certainly not part of the EDC line-up. I'd really hate for the CF to get damaged.

If you managed to damage a Gold Class knife I'm sure they would warranty it just like any of their other knives. But just because something costs as much or more than a Strider or CRK doesn't mean it gets used the same. Very few Gold Class knives go outside the box. I'm not sure I would carry one anyway, a little too flashy for me.

The BM Cold Class line is full of real beauties and this is no exception, they are however overpriced IMHO. They're more like jewellery than knives, they've kinda lost their practicality at the cost of bling and aesthetics.
But I'm glad you're satisfied with your purchase. :)

I'll be satisfied when it's in my hands and I see the attention to detail that the price-tag infers.

I actually had a chance at the 940 in all carbon damascus (blade and handle) and canceled, thinking I would actually carry it  Stainless Damasteel and Ti/CF seems like it should be nice and the pics don't usually do justice.

I may need to do a family photo :)

Meh, It's cool, but I've never really dug the whole damascus thing. I'd rather just a regular blade and that'd be in my pocket alll the time.

That looks ghastly. I'll always prefer simpler looks. I haven't seen a single good looking gold class Benchmade. They all look tacky.

Nice! We'll be getting one of these in the shop soon...can't wait to play with it! :D

I think its freakin' sweet. Some of the gold class are priced way too high for me to afford, but there is a damascus gold class Mini Presidio out right now realistically priced at about $325 and worth every penny, I am hoping the wife will pick me one up for Christmas.. It's too bad they can't price them all to be just a little more attainable.

After further thought, I may carry this when I dress up. It allows me to keep a knife form with which I'm comfortable and at the same time it's much more dressy than any of my other EDC knives. It would be a little much for jeans and a T-shirt, but for suit and tie it will fit right in.

Use it!!!

Besides who are you keep'in it MINT for? Will they enjoy it as much as you would if you use it?
