Found this beast tucked away in the wrong box at my firends shop :D

Apart from a scratched up clip its not far off new,
it still has the factory edge, the g-10 is pretty clean and generally unmarked, not a jot of rust anywhere on it either.

A nice score indeed as the Chinook 1 is defo my favorite of the 3 models :)

Very nice snag! I've always wanted one of those but its just a bit too big for me..I prefer my para, ukpk, somewhere along that size.

Cheers guys, The Chinooks are tanks, right up there with the Manix but with a sexier blade :)

I have had a good string of luck at that shop, I found a black Yojimbo not to long a go too.

What is the difference between a Chinook I II and III?

Blade shape + clip between I and II, between II and III, not much. II is a high hollow grind, while III is a full flat.

And nice pickup there! Let me know if you find a Gunting though. ;)

That's one beautiful folder. I have been wanting one for a long time but never seem to come up with the cash. Maybe someday. Really handsome blade there Haze! :D

I like the Chi3 for most things because of the grind but the no 1 is the best for just brutal abuse.
The handle on the Chinook is awesome as far as EDC because it hides so well in the pocket.

I hate to be a party pooper but that is not a Chinook I. The Chinook I model had a distinct swedge on the top part of the blade close to the tip. The Chinook II or III neither one has a swedge portion to the blade. That appears to be either a 440V or S30V Chinook II from what I can tell in the photo. I've had a Chinook I and I'm here to tell you it's not one of the first ones for sure. Beautiful knife though and a great find

As I said in an earlier post the knife in the picture is not a Chinook I. It is a Chinook II model. The Chinook I has a distinct swedge on the top part of the blade going from the tip to the middle of the blade. The Chinook II is the one pictured because the Chinook II has the hollow grind. The Chinook III is a flat grind blade. AS far as I know all the Chinook models have CPM blade steel.

Didn't only the Chinook's II & III have 4 way clips though? I believe this one has a swedge on the top, and the flat thumb ramp, as the II & III have humped ramps.

I'll try to find some more "official" pictures.

I'm pretty sure that's a Chinook I. The grind might not be totally obvious, but it's there.

Really ?, you would think somone with "Spydo" in their name could tell the difference, maybe your right.

Its funny though because this knife is the same as my other Chinook 1 but not the same as my Chinook 2 or 3, weird ......
