So, I saved up for some time in anticipation for the buck sale. I wasn't able to pull up much, just $240. Other bills and such got in the way, but it was all good. I mean, $240 is better than not going, right? Anyhow, we got there about an hour and a half before the store opened, and the line was still about fifty people long. It was all good, though. I chatted up Makael for the first time in person and screwed off on my phone. The hour and a half was up pretty quickly, and by the time we were in, the line snaked from the store door completely around the island, doubled up at the bathrooms and back to the exit door, where there were people waiting outside. I was one of those people waiting outside last year, by I learned better. Anyhow, into the store.
They had some pretty sweet stuff, but what caught my eye the minute I walked in was this here shiny new Kalinga. It was in the blem case for a total of $30. I had to have it. Most people weren't even in, and I had this beast it a carrying box. I heard someone ask about half a minute later if they could get one, and there was only one other one. So, that was cool! I loved Kalingas for quite some time now, but the price was just a touch too high. At $30, there was no way I could pass it up.

I walked in knowing exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately, they only had one of the three blades I intended to buy. No harm done, though. I was able to buy some other sweet blades besides. The one blade I knew I wanted was the Marksman. I have been wanting this one for a bit, so I was happy to spend the $60.

So, after I bought these two blades, I was on the hunt. The cash I had left over was just a burnin' a hole in my pockets. An idea popped into my head. I had recently totaled my assisted opening knife, so why not buy a new one? I came up to the counter and asked what they had for assisted opening. They had me at stonewash. So, off I walked, my new, and quite attractive assist in my box of loot.

I have liked the Buck stockmans for quite some time, so when I was this one for $10, I had to have it. Into the now heavy box it went.

My funds were dwindling pretty quickly now. I could make another large purchase, or a few smaller ones. An idea came into my mind. I had played around with the 124 Frontiersman some time ago at a local sports store, but it wasn't to be seen now. I came up to the counter one last time and asked if they might have one in the back. Just my luck, they did. The woman behind the counter set the box in front of me to inspect, and it was perfect. The person behind me stopped dead in his tracks. He quickly and desperately asked if he could check out the knife. With a grin, I handed him the beast. Not even twenty seconds later, he walked off, one of his own in his carrying box.

That concluded my buying. I was broke yet again. At the paying counter, the woman told me that I spent $220 and saved over $500. So, I would say that was a good deal!
Thanks for reading!

Those are nice! Someone that didn't have a Buck collection would have a great one with just those!

Not just a good Buck collection, but a well rounded collection that covers most of the niches! Modern folder and traditional folder for EDC, hunting knife, and bushcraft/survival. I know we all WANT more, but I can't imagine a situation where one could NEED more than that.

So funny, I have never met Ferahgo but we had exchanged ph numbers. I texted while inline at the Buck Sale and Ill be damned he was standing next to me. lol We had a good time and blew our money.

True story! I found this guy while searching for a Spydie, and we have been in contact since. Good to meet you, btw. I had no idea what your name was until then. You were in my contact list as "That one knife guy". lol.

Sorry folks, but it seems that Bladeforums ate everything but the pictures. Editing the text back in now

Indeed, this would be a great collection for anyone. I already had quite a few Bucks before hand, though. Like, a lot. lol

We are indeed lucky. I even met Chuck Buck, once upon a time. Good man. He signed one of my blades back in 09

Glad you had a good time buying and got acquainted with a friend. Chuck Buck is the man I'd like to be like. Don't know if I'll make it. DM

I enjoyed myself thoroughly. And I don't know much about Mr. Buck, but I do know he was a good person. A generous one who was good to those who worked for him.

I'll be daRned ... some people do save the boxes ... :)

Nice collection of knives and boxes you've got there.

reason for edit: changed one letter to avoid the "rn" looks like an "m" infraction.

Ayup! If I get a knife that has its box, onto the shelf it goes! That excludes almost every one of my slipjoints, though,
And thanks! I have been collecting since I was ten. THat has been a decade.

Do not collect boxes as per say. But I do keep every box that comes with a knife or BuckTool. ;)
BTW I put a note in each box with a description of the item that came in it.

It says on the barcode the number code for the item.
